Vegan Pull Apart Pizza Sliders

pizza. sliders. the best of both worlds.

If you love pizza, and sliders, and appetizers that are handheld, then these Vegan Pull Apart Pizza Sliders are exactly what you need to make for the big game in a couple weeks! They’re cheesy, and savory, and doused in the most delicious herby garlic butter! Here’s what you need to make them:

herby garlic butter:

  • vegan butter
  • fresh parsley
  • garlic: fresh garlic AND garlic powder
  • red pepper flakes

sliders:

  • vegan-friendly dinner rolls
  • vegan cheese: I like to use shredded mozzarella, shredded parmesan, AND sliced provolone
  • vegan pepperoni: there are several different brands of vegan pepperoni such as Yves, Sweet Earth Foods, and Field Roast that can be found at many grocery stores or ordered online through vegan grocery-delivery services. If you’re unable to find vegan pepperonis at the store, you can slice vegan sausage links very thinly, or make your own at home. I really love this recipe from Minimalist Baker using tofu! It’s so easy and really delicious!

Recipe type: Appetizer
Cuisine: Vegan
Serves: 12 sliders
Ingredients
Herby Garlic Butter:
  • ¼ cup vegan butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh minced parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 8 cloves fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Sliders:
  • 1 (12-count) package vegan-friendly dinner rolls, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 ½ cups pizza sauce (homemade or store bought), divided, plus more for serving
  • 1 cup vegan mozzarella shreds
  • 5 ounces vegan pepperonis, such as Sweet Earth Foods, Field Roast, or Yves (see recipe notes 1)
  • 1 cup vegan parmesan shreds, plus more for garnish
  • 6 slices vegan provolone cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. For the herby garlic butter, place the melted butter, 2 tablespoons minced parsley, garlic, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes into a small bowl and whisk together to combine. Set aside.
  3. To prepare the sliders, spread 1 cup of the pizza sauce onto the bottom half of the dinner rolls. Next, sprinkle on the mozzarella shreds, pepperonis, and ½ cup parmesan cheese. Dollop on the remaining ½ cup of pizza sauce and top with the provolone slices. Place the top half of the dinner rolls and transfer the sliders to a parchment paper rimmed baking tray.
  4. Brush with tops with the herby garlic butter and loosely cover with foil. Bake until the cheese is mostly melted, 15-20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10-12 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with additional fresh parsley and parmesan, and serve immediately with additional pizza sauce (see recipe notes 2).
